At C.L. Smith, we are focused on technology and innovation for our customers with robotic automation.  In 2022 we added collaborative UR Robots to automate the packaging of select bottles & pack styles at Lyons Blow Molding.

Utilizing robots in manufacturing to take on repetitive tasks allows us to streamline our workflow by combining traditional production methods with higher forms of technology and innovation to increase our production rates.

What is Robotic Automation?

Robotic process automation is software or tools that partially or fully automate human activities that are manual, repetitive, and rule-based.  They serve these purposes:

• It frees humans from monotonous, low-value-added tasks like data entry and makes them available for higher-value tasks that require human creativity, ingenuity, and decision-making.
• It helps to ensure that outputs are complete, correct, and consistent between tasks and between human workers
• It helps to ensure that tasks can be completed more quickly because the robotic process automation tool can find and retrieve any necessary data in the background
